Organic Power Ltd
In tackling climate change and developing secure energy policies less dependent on fossil fuels, governments across the globe are driving rapid growth in the renewable energy base. Ireland among other EU countries has not only deregulated its power market opening the way for local generators to connect to the national grid but is mandating that 33% of energy supply come from renewable sources by 2020 vs. a present level of less than 5%.
The overall focus of Organic Power is to develop a balanced portfolio of both intermittent and constant large scale renewable energy sites.
As an initial stage, Organic Power plans to acquire permits and land leases for 125MW of renewable generation capacity through sites in Ireland plus other international generation projects on an opportunistic basis. Operating since 2006, Organic Power has identified, acquired land lease options and is in the preplanning phase on 10 sites in Ireland which would deliver the 125MW targeted capacity by 2012. Organic Power will continue to identify similar sites to ensure meeting the overall 2012 goal and beyond as Management is targeting to develop a further renewable capacity of 500MW by 2017.
Organic Power Ltd has assembled an experienced team in renewable energy generation development across the spectrum of wind, sun, water, geothermal, biomass and other sources both in Ireland and internationally. The team has a solid track record of relationship with local planning authorities to fast track the planning and permitting process delivering value for the investors and local community. While focusing primarily on using proven renewable energy technologies Organic Power also seeks to exploit advances in technology through for example grant funding in tidal power.
Investment Structure
This investment opportunity has been opened to individual investors to participate in the growth opportunity presented in the renewable energy sector. Funds invested will be used to secure land leases, site construction permits, licenses and design for projects which will be constructed or sold. Energy deregulation creates new opportunities particularly in the initial development of renewable energy projects. At time of construction the individual projects will be analysed as to the best course for the investors through either selling the authorised projects or obtaining additional financing for construction and operation of the approved generation sites. Currently, projects will be eligible for significant incentives for renewable energy capacity.
